Livin' Through the Lenz is a sisterhood of black and brown breast cancer survivors who come together to encourage, empower, and share stories and experiences in a nonjudgmental space. Our unique approach combines photo-based therapy and visual storytelling to aid healing. We focus on the specific challenges survivors face in underserved communities.

The mission of Livin’ Through the Lenz Organization is to address and bridge the disparity gap in cancer care and outcomes that disproportionately impact women of color. Recognizing the crucial role of family and community in the healing process, our organization commits to integrating these essential support systems into the recovery journey.

At the core of our approach is photo-based therapy, an innovative and powerful tool designed to uplift, support, and empower black and brown women as they navigate their breast cancer healing journeys.

Our Founder

Delores King

Delores is a breast cancer survivor who has dedicated her journey to supporting and advocating for others facing similar challenges. With her deep passion for photography, she uses photo-based therapy for healing and self-expression. Her work is profoundly personal, reflecting her experiences and resilience as a breast cancer survivor.

Driven by her heartfelt desire to give back to the community, Delores believes in the profound impact photography can have on the survivor's emotional well-being. This belief led her to establish Livin' Through the Lenz, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering black
and Brown women in their fight against breast cancer through photo-based therapy.

Delores's story is one of creativity, strength, and an unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Livin Through the Lenz provides a platform for survivors to find solace, express themselves, and rebuild their confidence. Her dedication and innovative
approach continues to inspire, empower, and uplift others navigating similar challenges.
