Dr. Stanley Howard
Board Advisor
Dr. Howard is the founder and CEO of Law and Civics Reading and Writing Institute (LCRWI), which is a community-led education think-and-do tank that conducts interdisciplinary research, application, and evaluation in the field of human and child/youth development—focusing particularly on Black families living at the intersection of public education, public safety, public health, and public housing.  The findings from the call-to-action research are used primarily to educate and train the adults, i.e., parents, teachers, law enforcement officials, and mentors, in the lives of at-risk children and youth of color. Dr. Howard has a BA, Master's, and PhD in Political Science and has taught a variety of courses in Black Civil Rights, U.S. Supreme Court, and U.S. Constitution at the University of IL in Chicago, and DePaul University. Over the past ten years, he has cross-pollinated the study of political science with the fields of early childhood development and learning.
